CONCORDóN.C. Cooperative Extension will offer courses in conversational Spanish and beekeeping, starting in January.
Edgardo Gonzalez-Diaz, a popular local instructor originally from Puerto Rico, will teach an eight-week course in conversational Spanish. Gonzalez-Diaz strives to make learning the language fun for adults who are not used to a university setting.

The course costs $50 per person. The series is co-sponsored by the Cabarrus County Library, and the deadline to register is Jan. 3.
The beekeeping course includes nine classes and a field day. The class will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday starting Jan. 26 at the N.C. Cooperative Extension-Cabarrus County Center.
The course costs $30 per person and will be taught by certified beekeepers in the Cabarrus County Beekeepers Association.
