RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) ó Gov. Beverly Perdue says Apple is coming to North Carolina to build a data warehouse in the state.

The governor announced Wednesday the technology giant will build the data center in a rural area and hire at least 50 full-time workers. The specific location hasn’t been finalized.

The announcement comes just after Perdue signed an incentives bill into law that makes tax law changes designed to lure Apple. The bill received final legislative approval Monday.

The bill didn’t identify Apple but gave a company that invests $1 billion a tax break of about $46 million in the next decade.

Perdue’s office says the data center could generate another 250 jobs for service providers to the plant and could generate more than 3,000 related jobs for the region’s economy.
