ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. ó Andy Sonnanstine delivered after a pregame mistake forced the pitcher to bat Sunday, hitting an RBI double in the Rays’ 7-5 victory over the Indians.
The game was delayed 13 minutes before the bottom of the first due to a lineup card error by the Rays that listed both Ben Zobrist and Evan Longoria as the third baseman. Longoria was supposed to be DH, but Tampa Bay lost that position because of the snafu and was forced to put Sonnanstine in the third spot of the lineup.
Sonnanstine (2-4) went 1-for-3, including a run-scoring double in the fourth. He also reached on a failed sacrifice in the first and struck out looking in the third.
David Huff (0-1) took the loss for the Indians.
Yankees 3, Twins 2, 10 innings
NEW YORK ó Johnny Damon homered in the 10th inning, giving the Yankees their third straight comeback win over the Twins that was capped by a game-ending hit.
Alex Rodriguez homered in the seventh to start New York’s rally from a two-run deficit, as the Yankees extended their winning streak to a season-best five games.
With one out, Damon drove a full-count pitch from Jesse Crain (2-2) into the second deck of right-field stands for his team-high 10th home run and third career game-ender.
The last time New York had three consecutive walk-off wins was August 27-29, 1972.

Blue Jays 8, White Sox 2
TORONTO ó Roy Halladay won his fifth straight start, Adam Lind hit one of three Toronto homers and the Blue Jays won their AL-leading 26th game.
