Piedmont Players Theatre Summer Drama Camps
Meroney Theater, 213 S. Main St., Salisbury. 704-633-5471 Drama Camps offer students of all levels the opportunity to strengthen acting skills and be a part of a mini-production. Students will learn theater techniques and acting skills through creative drama, improvisation and character development activities and learn many aspects of a theater production including rehearsing, choosing props, choosing costumes, and helping with set design.At Music Drama Camps, elementary school campers will be singing classic Disney favorites or selections from “The Wiz.” Middle school campers will sing selections from the hit musical “Grease.” For rising third- through fifth-graders and rising sixth- through eighth-graders.
High schoolers will explore The Great American Drama: Reflections and studies in O’Neil, Simon, Williams, Inge, Auburn and Edson. For rising ninth- through 12th-graders.
All camps are Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Cost: $100 per week; $90 per week for PPT 2008-2009 members.
Elementary school Drama Camp: June 22-26 or July 6- July 10.
Elementary school Musical Camp: July 13-17 or July 20- 24/
Middle school Drama Camp: Aug. 3-7.
Middle school Musical Camp: July 27-31.
High School Drama (On Stage) July 27-31.
