More on Lou Murphy
Most marked characteristic: Impatience.
Most valued characteristic in a friend: Honesty.
The lowest depth of misery: Being unable to help someone close and dear to me.
Favorite artists: I love Sargent and Goya and so many others. It’s hard to pick one because they all give you something different.
The perfect meal: French roasted leg of lamb, rare, cut the French way, new potatoes, French green beans and baba ah rhum.
Philosophy of life: My daddy taught me the golden rule ó “do unto others (as you would have them do unto you).” It’s trite as it can be, but I really try to be fair to people. I try to think about their point of view.
Favorite dramatic roles: The queen in “Lion in Winter” and the lead role in Foxfire.
Favorite books: “I Heard the Owl Call My Name,” by Margaret Craven. Also, books by Gavin Maxwell like “The Rocks Remain.”
Most proud of: Keeping a sense of balance, for the most part.
Favorite place: The Sierra Nevada mountains.
