Spotlight on Charity Case: farewell tour

Charity Case, the band that has made more than $600,000, and given it all away, announced today they are embarking on their last tour together.
After eight years and over 200 shows the band will begin their farewell tour titled, “Blood, Sweat and Cheers.” The tour began in January and lasts through June.
They will be making a stop this Saturday at Cripple Creek Roadhouse Grill, 17665 Stokes Ferry Road, New London.
Since making their debut in 2001 in front of 1,200 people, the band has been raising money for Ace & TJ’s Grin Kids. The charity is part of the Ace and TJ Show on Kiss 95.1. Grin Kids is a registered 501c3 charity that each year sends a plane load of terminally ill and chronically disabled children and their families for an all expenses paid, once-in-a-lifetime, dream vacation to Disney World.
Charity Case has been the number one source of funding for the Grin Kids over the past eight years.
“It has been the most amazing experience and we feel blessed to have touched so many people’s lives. All of our children are getting older and our families need us more than ever. We have exceeded all of our dreams, done things many said were impossible and ultimately, by the time it’s all said and done, we will have raised a great deal of money for children and their families that really needed the help,” said Eddie Z, Charity Case guitarist and music director.
Charity Case, fronted by Ace from the Ace & TJ Morning Show, plays current to classic hits. A Charity Case show mixes rock from the ’80s, ’90s and today, old-school hip-hop that’s rocked out and even a dash of country.
Over the next six months, Charity Case will perform their final concerts at frequented venues, along with a few feature performances around the Charlotte region. All shows begin at 10 p.m., unless otherwise indicated.
