Ask anyone what makes a memorable gathering and you will most likely hear good food, good friends and good conversation. It’s an entertaining recipe for success that every host or hostess aspires to achieve. Springtime brings a bundle of luncheons, showers and backyard parties. Home cooks are looking for fresh, new dishes to serve that celebrate the arrival of warm-weather festivities.
Taste of Home Cooking School is blooming with “Spring Sensations” for your spring entertaining agenda. Watch Michelle Roberts, culinary specialist, prepare 10 party-pleasing dishes at Jesse Carson High School on Monday, April 27.
“Our recipes have an international flavor this season,” Roberts said.
“Mushroom Napoleon” marries traditional goat cheese with portabella mushrooms for a savory twist to a wholesome culinary sensation.
“Mexican Lasagna” will dazzle the palate with zesty salsa and the pungent flavor of cilantro, commonly called Mexican parsley. “Spicy Asian Shrimp Salad” melds lime juice and hot chili paste with spring greens and shrimp for a zippy flavor blast.
Awaken your palate to the bold, spicy flavor sensations these dishes will bring to the table. Ethnic cooking is a satisfying departure from the standard American meal, so let your culinary adventure begin!
