EVANSTON, Ill. ó JaJuan Johnson hit two free throws with 2.2 seconds left and No. 19 Purdue capped a comeback from a 14-point second-half deficit to beat Northwestern 63-61.
Robbie Hummel scored 15 points for the Boilermakers (13-4, 2-2 Big Ten). They trailed by 11 with 7:45 left.
Northwestern (8-6, 0-4) missed seven free throws in the second half.
“No question we got some breaks in the last five minutes of the game,” Purdue coach Matt Painter said. “I thought Northwestern clearly outplayed us most of the game.”

NEW YORK ó Kemba Walker scored 21 points and Jeff Adrien added 17 points with 11 rebounds.
The win was the fourth straight for the Huskies (15-1, 4-1 Big East) since they lost their conference opener.
No. 15 Xavier 67, Rhode Island 65
KINGSTON, R.I. ó Derrick Brown had 12 points and eight rebounds to lead Xavier (14-2, 3-0 Atlantic 10).
Dante Jackson’s 3-pointer with 1:45 left put Xavier ahead for good.
USC 61, No. 16 Arizona State 49
LOS ANGELES ó DeMar DeRozan scored 19 of his 22 points in the second half for USC (11-5, 5-2).
James Harden was held to a career-low four points by Daniel Hackett. Harden missed all eight of his field-goal attempts for ASU (14-3, 3-2).
The Sun Devils led 26-19 at halftime.

CHICAGO ó Shelvin Mack had 20 points for Butler (15-1, 6-0 Horizon).
Matt Howard added 18 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks.
No. 18 Minnesota 78, Wisconsin 74 (OT)MADISON, Wis. ó Lawrence Westbrook hit a 3-pointer to tie the game with two seconds left in regulation, scored nine points in overtime and finished with 29 points.
The Gophers (16-1, 4-1) rallied from a nine-point deficit with 3:24 left.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. ó Kevin Goffney had 22 points and 11 rebounds against Appalachian (6-8, 3-3 Southern).App. State, led by Kellen Brand’s 21 points, lost its second overtime game in a week. It fell 85-83 to UNC Greensboro on Saturday.
Trailing 77-74, ASU’s Jeremi Booth had a 3-pointer rim out with 12 seconds left. Nicchaeus Doaks made one free throw for the Mocs (7-10, 3-3).

GREENSBORO ó Tyler Troupe scored 23 points to lead Georgia Southern (5-8, 3-2 SoCon).
Ben Stywall led the Spartans (2-12, 1-4) with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
