Columnist Thomas off-base on religion
There is a false prophet among us and his name is Cal Thomas. He writes opinion pieces that seem to have lofty ideals until one reads them with any care.
Recently he wrote about the wonders of Christmas and the gift of faith. It would be a good piece except he opens it with his usual political garbage that is biased and snide. In the long run, he belittles faith by comparing it to a need to trust in people that we hope will lead us on this planet.
It seems to be a common problem that faith and reality are confused, but Cal has a long record of writing opinions that end up contradicting themselves by lacking in rational thought. The idea that Obama has a messianic following is just stupid. After Cal’s support of W, he should recognize that people will react and seek a man with character, a good mind and with solid plans.
Obama was elected to be president of the United States of America, and we trust he can turn things around for the better. We cannot let someone like Cal Thomas get away with such foolishness.
