Boggs 60th Anniversary

Chaplain Col. William Gilmer Boggs and Peggy Lipe Boggs of China Grove are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple were united in marriage Dec. 19, 1948, at Mount Moriah Lutheran Church by the Rev. E.R. Trexler and the Rev. David Johnson.
Chaplain Boggs retired from the Air Force in 1987, having served 31 years. He has also served as pastor of Christiana Lutheran Church in Granite Quarry.
During his military career, Chaplain Boggs was stationed in seven states, Korea, Germany and Japan. He, his two sons and a daughter have served a total of 90 years on active duty in the United States Air Force.
Col. and Mrs. Boggs have four children, Col. Randall Boggs and wife Teresa, both deceased; Major Karen Wagner and husband Wesley of Yorktown, Va.; Col. Kevin Boggs and wife Debby of San Antonio, Texas; and Sydna and husband Dennis of Montgomery, Texas.
They have seven grandchildren.

Danie – Paris

Melissa Lynn Danie and Douglas Todd Paris, Jr., were united in marriage Oct. 18, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Father James Ebright officiated the 2 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at the Heritage Room.
The bride was escorted by her father, Paul Danie. Attending as maid of honor was Sara Danie and as bridesmaid was Mariana Danie, sisters of the bride of Huntersville. Lindsey Deland of Westfield, Mass., was flower girl.
Todd Paris was his sonís best man. The groomís uncle, Matt Paris, was groomsman.
The bride is the daughter of Paul and Arlene Danie of Huntersville and the granddaughter of Walter and Phyllis Stec and Florence Manseau, all of Chicopee, Mass. A 2002 graduate of North Mecklenburg High School, Melissa received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 2005. In 2007, she received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from East Carolina University. She is a Physician Assistant at Chotiner Family Healthcare in Rockwell.
The groom is the son of Zina Risley of Richfield and Todd Paris of Salisbury and the grandson of Claude and Carolyn Paris of Salisbury and John and Sylvia Trexler of Richfield. A 2002 graduate of East Rowan High School, Doug received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 2005, graduating with Highest Honors and Highest Distinction. In 2007, he received his Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina School of Government, where he was the Ed Wyatt Local Government Scholar. Doug is employed by the City of Salisbury.
Following a wedding trip to Whistler, British Columbia, Canada, the couple are making their home in Salisbury.

Dillard – Lostetter

LITCHFIELD BEACH, S.C. ó Kimberly Brooke Dillard and Brandon Paul Lostetter were united in marriage Oct. 25, 2008, in the Live Oak Alley at Brookgreen Gardens.
The Rev. John Renfro officiated the 5:30 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at the Holiday House.
The bride was escorted by her father, George Thomas Dillard. Her sister, Kristin Dillard Haynes of Salisbury, N.C., attended as matron of honor, and Michaela Elaine Eagle of Salisbury attended as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Leslie Christine Wescott and Jennifer Lynn Post, both of Cumming, Ga. Laney Davis of Alpharetta, Ga., served as the flower girl. Kristi Lostetter Carlson served as guest registrar.
Friend of the groom Coady William Root of Cumming, Ga., served as the best man. Groomsmen were brother of the groom Jonathon Andrew Lostetter of Alpharetta, Ga., brother of the bride Alexander Thomas Dillard of Salisbury and friend of the groom Nicholas Ronald Smith of Cumming, Ga.
The bride is the daughter of Thom and Beverly Dillard of Salisbury and the granddaughter of Bettie Morris of Charleston, S.C., and Thomasine Dillard of Sylva, N.C.
The groom is the son of Randy and Vicki Lostetter of Alpharetta, Ga., and the grandson of Donald and Myra McDonald and Beverly and James Lostetter.
The couple are making their home in Cumming, Ga.

Eagle 50th Anniversary

Dr. James Carr Eagle Jr. and Patricia Lomax Eagle of Spencer are celebrating their 50th anniversary Dec. 30, 2008. The Eagles were married Dec. 30 1958, at First Baptist Church in Spencer by the Rev. Dr. Clyde Chapman.
A retired professor of dentistry, James still teaches part-time at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A homemaker, Patricia is a loving mother to her children and grandchildren.
Their two children are Christopher Alan and wife Nicole Peters Eagle of Salisbury and Suzanne Eagle Thacker and husband Jeff of Emerald Isle. Their grandchildren are Sieria Eagle and Garrett Eagle.
The Eagles celebrated the event early with a trip to Disney World with their family.

Hannold Graduation

Gregory M. Hannold of Salisbury graduated from Methodist University of Fayetteville on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, where he received his Master Degree in Justice Administration. During the program, he was inducted into Alpha Phi Sigma National Criminal Justice Honor Society.
A graduate of North Rowan High School, he received his Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, graduating with honors. He then received his Bachelor of Business Administration with concentration in Administration of Justice from Catawba College, again graduating with honors.
Greg has been in law enforcement for approximately 14 years. He is currently an Investigator for the Rowan County Sheriffís Office.
Always having their support, his parents, Richard L. and Nancy H. Hannold, his wife, Janella Boger Hannold, his children, Sadie and Cody, and his friends are extremely proud of his accomplishment and congratulate him.

OíNeal – Cruse

GATLINBURG, Tenn. ó Virginia iJennyî OíNeal and Michael D. Cruse of Salisbury were married at 2 p.m. Dec. 6, 2008, at Chalet Mountain by the Rev. Timothy Coleman.
The bride was escorted by her son, Jacob OíNeal. Maid of honor was daughter of the groom Tori Cruse of Salisbury. Best man was son of the groom Jamie Cruse of Salisbury.
Jenny is the daughter of Bill and Cheryl Herring of Concord and the granddaughter of G.E and Jane Lentz of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., and David and Nancy Wike of Concord. A 1993 graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High School, she is employed by Northlake Childrenís Assoc., Mooresville.
The groom is the son of Wayne Cruse of China Grove and Connie Barnette of Concord and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Sides. A 1983 graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High School, Michael is employed by UPS, Statesville.
The couple are living in Salisbury. A reception will be held in their honor in May 2009, when the couple will also honeymoon at Disney World.

Scarborough – Wieland

Mr. Hubert Gregory Scarborough, Jr. of Salisbury and Mrs. Ann Dowell McHone of Salisbury announce the engagement of their daughter, Allison Ann Scarborough of Charlotte, to Daniel Jeffery Wieland of Charlotte. Daniel is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery Joseph Wieland of Bend, Ore.
Allison is the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. James Willard Dowell of Baton Rouge, La., and Ms. Elizabeth Mills Cooper of Salisbury and Mr. Hubert Gregory Scarborough, Sr. of DeBarry, Fla. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Accounting from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Allison is a Senior Assurance Associate for Grant Thornton, LLP in Charlotte.
Daniel is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Paul Parys of Horsham, Pa., and Captain Dicky Wieland, USN (Retired) of Santa Cruz, Calif., and the late Mrs. Lillian R. Wieland of Alameda, Calif. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Accounting from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Daniel is a Financial Reporting Analyst for Sonic Automotive, Inc. in Charlotte.
The wedding is June 13, 2009, at the First Presbyterian Church in Salisbury.

Scott – Miller

SPENCER ó Donna Beaver Scott of Spencer and E.J. Miller, formerly of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., were united in marriage Dec. 26, 2008, at Spencer Womenís Club in Spencer. The 5 p.m. ceremony was officiated by Rev. Julie McKay-Wilkenson and followed by a reception and karaoke.
Donna Rouse of Salisbury was maid of honor, and Tony Mendolera of Rockwell was best man.
Donna is employed by Rowan County Department of Social Services, and E.J. is a retired stock broker.
The couple will make their home in Spencer.
