Anti-tobacco efforts moving forward
The Youth-In-Action Against Tobacco Council has worked hard in 2008 to present presentations to youth on the dangers of tobacco use. All year long, these dedicated youth attended trainings, meetings, events and went from school to school and to other organizations to educate young people on the dangers of tobacco use and encourage them to adopt a tobacco-free lifestyle.
I want to thank them all for their hard work and dedication to the council. We are seeing a difference in Rowan County with the number of youth with a tobacco-free lifestyle, and we want to continue the good work throughout 2009.
So again, a big thank you to the YIAATC members and our wonderful parents and volunteers who support us and help us throughout the year. If you’d like for YIAATC to come to your organization, please contact me at the Rowan County Health Department 704- 216-8849. Our program is funded by the N.C. Health & Wellness Trust Fund.
