The world-famous Glenn Miller Orchestra will swing into Salisbury a week before Christas for a performance presented by the Rowan County Concert Association.
The show will be performed at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 18 in Keppel Auditorium at Catawba College.
More than 50 years since the public first embraced the Miller Sound, Larry O-Brien,the band’s musical director, takes the band of 20, including one male and one female singer, all over the world.
Audience members will hear the Glenn Miller theme song, “Moonlight Serendade,” as well as many other hits, including “In the Mood,” Tuxedo Junction,” “String of Pearls,” Chattanooga Choo-Choo,” which received the first Gold Record ever awarded.
The band travels more than 100,000 miles each year, playing more than 300 dates.
Tickets are $20 for adults; $5 for students, 18 and under.
Advance tickets are available at Salisbury Belk, Rowan Visitor Center, Literary BookPost, Frostbites, Rowan Arts Council. Tickets will be available at the Keppel Box Office one hour before the show.
