Dedication of EMS station was a fitting tribute
Congratulations to all who were instrumental in designing and building EMS Station No. 85.
My family and I would like to thank the EMS staff, Frank Thomason, John Sharp, Lenny Cooper, the county commissioners and Karen Alexander for the beautiful dedication ceremony in honor and memory of my husband Charles L. Ridenhour Sr. He was a great servant to his community and church families. We miss him tremendously. His spirit and love for all of you will remain for many years to come.
God bless you.

Many stopped to offer aid
I just wanted to thank all the many people who stopped to help me and the poor pup that was hit on N.C. 52 Monday morning. I was surprised to see so many people stop.
I’m saddened to say the pup didn’t make it.
I do want to voice my opinion on the animal control officer who showed up. I know there’s no easy way to handle a hurt dog, but I thought the way he handled her was cruel. He picked her up and shoved her into the cage. Her head was crammed into the tire well, and he was still trying to push her more. I just think he could have handled her in a better way.
