This might seem like a strange time for a construction company to be expanding, but Myrick Construction Co. sees big things on the horizon.
Jeff Cline is the point man at a new Myrick Construction office in Salisbury, and he sees plenty of activity going on in Rowan County and the surrounding area.
Cline, who worked for seven years for Taylor Clay, is the sole local employee for the Biscoe-based company. He said the company has several projects in the works around the area, but he sees more potential coming along the corridor between Interstates 85 and 77.
“Where a lot of people have scaled back, we’re pushing forward,” he said Thursday. “There’s still opportunities out there.”
He said people are still building in Rowan and Cabarrus counties.
He’s trying to let people know his company isn’t just for the massive projects. “The misconception I’m finding, and I go to chamber meetings all over, is Myrick is known for its large, pre-engineered buildings. We’re extremely good at that … but we bid on everything.”
He noted some of the projects include buildings for auto garages, banks, offices, fire stations, airport hangars and medical facilities. The larger projects include strip malls, industrial parks, churches and race shops.
Myrick Construction has been in business since 1968. To see some of the company’s projects, visit www.myrickconstruction.com.
Cline was born in Salisbury and took some time off after his Taylor Clay tenure to work on the Cline Equestrian Center that his wife, Linda, operates.
Cline’s new office is in the Loflin Center (across from O’Charley’s restaurant) at 130 N. Arlington St. You can reach him on his cell phone at 704-305-3706 or his office at 704-431-4524.
