* Game notes: For Salisbury, itís a quick turnaround after Mondayís thriller. It canít afford a letdown against a more rested Ledford team that poses the last serious obstacle to a perfect regular season.
Ledford spanked the Hornets pretty soundly in 2007 to end a four-game losing to streak in the series. The gamebreaking play last season was a third-quarter blocked punt for a TD.
Ledford QB Cody Williams, who directed last seasonís victory, is still around. Heís rushed for 478 yards, thrown for 932 and accounted for 13 TDs.
Reashon Farlow and Rob Davis have also rushed for more than 400 yards for a school that produced pros Madison Hedgecock and Brad Hoover. Steven Fuquay has 23 catches for 335 yards and three TDs. Jonathan Reid had a kick return TD against West Davidson last week.
Salisbury hasnít been able to run the ball much the past two games, and linemen such as iTouchdownî Tommy Coggin and Tory Turner have to find a way to open more holes for A.J. Ford and Dario Hamilton tonight. If not, John Knox will be throwing to Ford and Romar Morris.
Turner shined on the defensive side of the ball against Lexington and was in on the last critical stop along with Ike Whitaker.
Ledford lost 24-21 at Lexington, a score that will get Salisburyís attention after Mondayís close call.
