* Game notes: Davie takes on its biggest rival in a CPC opener. Davie has owned the series lately and has beaten the Titans four straight since West Forsyth won in 2003.
Davieís defense shut down the Titans last season, but the War Eagles may have to outscore their foes tonight.
Theoretically, championship teams win with defense, but Davieís defensive numbers are at the bottom of the area stats. The War Eagles are allowing a staggering 224 passing yards and 377 total yards per game
Back Dedrick iWaterbugî Anderson usually makes the noise for the Titans, who had an impressive win over East Forsyth in their last outing.
That was a scary win because East Forsyth handed Mount Tabor its only loss.
West Forsyth has scored 30 or more points five times. Only Carver, which beat the Titans 26-14, held them under 30.
Davie has scored 41, 35, 34, 38, 51 and 50 points to carve out its fine record. The loss was 38-34 to Thomasville. Offensive coordinator Barry Whitlock has a well-oiled machine thatís gotten special numbers from QB Zach Illing and receivers Joe Watson and Jarrell Marshall.
