From staff reports
Michael “Danger” Doran made three saves in goal, then scored a goal for Salisbury’s soccer team in an 11-0 CCC victory against North Rowan on Wednesday.
Salisbury, which plays East Rowan tonight, got four assists from Randy Almeida and two from Connor Miller.
Oscar Bonilla and Michael Mazur led a parade of goal-scorers with two apiece. Doran, Wes McNeely, Victor Nyae, Hunter Fisher, Paul Kollie, Daman Bowman and Dustin Presnell had one each.
Salisbury (6-3, 6-0) recently had a non-conference loss by forfeit to West Rowan taken off the books. West also had an ineligible player in action in that game, so the contest won’t count at all.
Salisbury played a lot of jayvees and rested a lot of starters, including regular keeper Frankie Cardelle, who has a groin injury. Doran filled in admirably in goal for about 60 minutes before being spelled by Scott van der Poel.
* East Rowan lost to West Iredell 3-1 in NPC soccer on Wednesday.

East’s defense, led by John Owen and Will Mancil, played well against a fast foe. Owen and Mancil also set up Huffman’s goal.
