* Last week: Sun Valley routed Weddington 49-7; A.L. Brown lost 23-21 to Mooresville
* Next week: Sun Valley is at home against Piedmont; A.L. Brown goes to Anson County
* Game notes: Itís the SPC opener for both and it could decide the title.
While A.L. Brown has won 17 of 18 meetings, the one loss was two years ago when Sun Valley won 28-21 on its last visit to Memorial Stadium.
Brown crushed Sun Valley by 20-plus points 13 years in a row a while back, but the Spartans have become an ultra-talented team under coach Scott Stein in recent years.
Brown handled the Spartans last season in Indian Trail, but this is expected to be a tight matchup. Sun Valley didnít have its star receiver Vincent iRay Rayî Davis when it played Brown last year. The UNC commitment was sitting out a suspension then, but heíll be in the lineup tonight.
Brown is equally concerned with quarterback Andy Capone, who threw five TD passes last week in wind and rain and also tossed four as Sun Valley overwhelmed Eastern Randolph 48-27 opening night.
Sun Valleyís offensive weapons donít stop with Capone and Davis. Running back Darius Kirtz is rolling for big yardage and he also ran back the opening kickoff for a TD against Eastern Randolph.
Brown has to bounce back from a tough loss to Mooresville.
Running back Johnathan Williams has been good for 100 yards every night, QB Jamill Lott has been exceptional, and Aaron Davidson is a big obstacle on Brownís defensive front.
