Burgess 50th Anniversary
James Franklin Burgess and Joyce Carolyn Thomason Burgess of Salisbury celebrated their 50th anniversary Aug. 23, 2008. A family dinner was held Aug. 30 in their honor. The couple were united in marriage Aug. 23, 1958, in York, S.C. James retired from Foothills Trucking, and Joyce is a housewife.
Their children are Darlene Jones and husband Bryan of Salisbury, Jimmy Burgess and wife Suzanne of Salisbury, Don Burgess and wife Melanie of Denton and Tommy Burgess of Salisbury. They also have five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Burlage – Pinkston
FT. WAYNE, Ind. ó Catherine Marie Burlage and David Shannon Pinkston were united in marriage Aug. 2, 2008, at Taylor Chapel Methodist Church.
The brideís matron of honor was Kelly Parrish of Ft. Wayne. The groom chose Daniel Pinkston of Asheville, N.C., as his best man.
The bride is the daughter of Joe and Pat Burlage of Ft. Wayne, Ind. A 2007 graduate of Purdue University, Catherine is pursuing her masterís in Biochemical and Molecular Nutrition at Purdue.
The groom is the son of Larry and Sue Pinkston of Salisbury, N.C. A 2005 graduate of Catawba College in Salisbury, David is pursuing his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry at Purdue University.
