Holden Beach a hot spot for sharks

The Smith family of Salisbury caught a lot of sharks ó big and small ó during a recent trip to Holden Beach.
One of the biggest was a 4-footer that Jacob Smith caught in about 2 feet of water just off shore in a throw net, according to his wife, April.
They caught a lot of smaller sharks off the pier and another 4 1/2-footer in the intercoastal waterway.
A neighbor got the 4-foot shark and cut him into filets.
April’s Dad, William Holt of Salisbury, has the boat “Crazy Horse” they used in the intercoastal waterway and offshore to catch plenty of whiting and spots to go with the sharks.
