Area briefs: Seven straight wins for Intimidators

The Kannapolis Intimidators beat Lexington 3-2 in 10 innings for their seventh straight win at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium on Monday.
Sergio Morales singled up the middle to knock in the winning run.
Kannapolis (9-3) scored twice in the first inning on run-scoring hits by Jim Gallagher and Logan Johnson.
Brian Pellegrini hit a two-run homer for Lexingtonís runs in the third.
Intimidators starter Miguel Socolovich pitched five innings. Santo Luis tossed three scoreless frames. Leroy Hunt pitched the ninth and tenth and got the win.
The Intimidators wrap up the two-game set today as part of a six-game homestand. Kannapolis welcomes Lake County for four games, including fireworks on July 3-5.

– Fleisher honored
Kannapolisí Mark Fleisher has been named South Atlantic League Player of the Week.
Fleisher hit .500 (14-for-28) with seven doubles, a home run, six runs scored and 13 RBIs and helped Kannapolis win six games.
– American Legion
Nick Lomascolo pitched a two-hitter and struck out 10 in five innings to lead Mooresville to a 4-1 victory over Concord in a rain-shortened makeup game on Monday. Dylan West had a two-run single for the Moors, and Joe Manser and Jon Crucitti had key doubles.
South Rowan plays a makeup game at Statesville tonight. The teams will start from scratch. Alex Ingold is the probable pitcher for South.
Rowan County plays host to Lexington in a makeup game.
– Parks and Rec camps
Salisbury Parks and Recreation is holding half-day camps from 9-1 for volleyball, wrestling and football.
The volleyball camp is for ages 7-13 and will be held July 14-18. The instructor is Shelley Daubenmire.
The wrestling camp is for ages 8-14 and will be held July 28-Aug. 1. The instructor is Keith Shields.
The football camp is for ages 7-13 and will be held Aug. 11-15.
Instructors are Tom McDaniel and Romeo White.

– McCanless Couples
The McCanless Couples League played Sunday, with 20 golfers participating. The format was four-person Texas Scramble.
Andy and Dolly Canup, Brenda Mosely and Rodney Setzer shot 33 for first place.
Second place in a scorecard playoff went to Gene and Mary Seaford and Norman and Lyn Carlton, who shot 34.
Sharon Miller won the longest putt on hole No. 7.
