North Rowan’s summer AAU track and field team competed in the Jim Law Invitational at Johnson C. Smith.
Daishion Barger and T.T. Cuthbertson won MVP awards.
Competing in the 15-16 boys division, Barger won the 110 hurdles (14.7 seconds), the 200 meters (22.5) and triple jump (41 feet). He was third in the long jump (21-7).
Cuthbertson was MVP for 13-14 girls. She won the 100 hurdles (15.2) and long jump (16-7) and placed fifth in the 200 hurdles (29.66).
John Bostick won the 110 hurdles for 17-18 boys in 14.34.
Ashlyn Garcia placed fourth in the 1500 meters for 9-10 girls in 6:25.96.
Tink Bush placed sixth in the 100 for 13-14 girls with a personal best of 12.3.
Tiffany Brown was 10th in the 200 hurdles for 13-14 girls in 18.00.
n Steedley: All-Star
Beloit pitcher Spencer Steedley (East Rowan) is on the West squad for the Midwest League All-Star Game that will be played tonight in Midland, Mich., at Dow Diamond, home of the Great Lakes Loons.

n Moors still on top
Mooresville beat Mocksville 8-1 on Monday and stayed unbeaten in the Southern Division of Area III.
Charlotte signee Aubrey Meadows pitched eight innings, allowed five hits and struck out 10.
The Manser brothers, Eric and Joe, combined for five hits for the Moors.
Corey Norman drove in the run for Mocksville. Zack Russell-Myers took the loss.
n SAC honorees
Wingate basketball players Anna Atkinson and Sean Barnette have been named SAC Athletes of the Year for the 2007-08 school year.
