All in good funFunny thing about April: Did you know it’s National Humor Month?
So it was suggested in 1976 by humorist Larry Wilde, director of The Carmel Institute of Humor. Wilde wanted to draw attention to the power of laughter to improve health, boost morale and increase communication skills.
Children are much better at this than adults. According to an article in Redbook, children laugh 300 to 400 times a day, while adults average 15 times a day ó which may be why parents often ask their children, “What’s so funny?”
One person’s stress is another person’s stress relief. This joke from the Internet is a case in point:
The chairman of the board of directors of a Chicago charity called the monthly meeting to order. “I have rather a stressful order of business,” he announced. “We’re looking for a treasurer.”
“But we appointed a treasurer just six months ago.”
“Yes,” said the chairman. “That’s the treasurer we’re looking for.”
April is also International TWIT (Tiresome Wit) Award Month.
