Raleigh tourney scheduled
The Royal Banquet and Conference Center, 3801 Hillsborough St., will be the playing site for Raleigh’s Super Bowl Sectional Tournament set for Jan. 31-Feb. 3. Collins Williams is tournament chair. Details are in the January District 7 News.
Betsy Bare and Gloria Bryant placed first in the weekly duplicate game last Tuesday evening at the Salisbury Woman’s Club.
Other winners were: Myrnie and John McLaughlin, second; Becky Creekmore and Marie Pugh, third.

The John McLaughlins defeated their South opponents’ three-no trumps-doubled contract two tricks for the best E/W score on this deal.
The Bare/Bryant partnership won the top N/S score. Their West opponent fulfilled a two clubs contract.
In the Evergreen Club’s Jan. 18 game, Myrnie and John McLaughlin were high overall and first E/W. Betsy Bare and Myrtle Brandon were the top N/S pair.
Other winners were: N/S óNorma Lewis and Betty Bonner Steele tied with Marie Pugh and Ruth Bowles for second. E/W ó Genny Mozolak and Joe O’Brien, second; Jean Hill and Loren Parkinson, third.
The Symphony Guild will have a benefit bridge luncheon on Thursday, Feb. 21, 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Forest Glen Club House, $30 per person.
