A stranger’s act of kindness
There are still great people who walk this Earth.
On Aug. 1, I was at the China Grove Food Lion with my two little girls. I was about to pay for our food, but my card was declined because there wasn’t enough money in my account. I said OK and had started to put back the food when a lady stepped up and said, “Can I pay for it?”
I said, “No, we will be OK.”
She said, “It’s OK. I’ll pay for it” and swiped her card through the machine.
I was in tears. I couldn’t say anything. I just waved and left. I cried all the way home.
I don’t know your name. I might not ever see you again.
I hope you read this letter. I would like to repay you. I called the Food Lion, but they could not give me your name.

I will never forget what you did for me. I want to say “thank you,” but a million thanks would never be enough.

Help in emergency
On Aug. 2, I was walking across the street to the parking deck from Rowan Regional Medical Center, and I fell in the street. Just as I fell, a young man who was walking his dog came to my aid. I would like to thank this young man for being so helpful. Thanks to all who helped after I was taken into the emergency room. Special thanks to Dr. Scott Chamberlin. God bless each one for their kindness to me.

Honesty is appreciated
