SALISBURY ó Rowan Regional Medical Center has been recognized by a national health care organization for providing excellent care to patients with heart attack and heart failure.
VHA Inc., a national health care alliance, awarded Rowan Regional Medical Center a 2007 Leadership Award for Excellence. The award was given on May 20 at the 24th annual VHA Leadership Conference in Denver, Colo., for Rowan Regional’s excellent treatment of acute myocardial infarction (heart attack) and congestive heart failure.
The Leadership Awards acknowledge those organizations that differentiate themselves from other VHA members by surpassing national performance standards in specific clinical categories.
“I want to thank and congratulate our cardiologists, physicians, nurses and other clinical staff who have worked hard to achieve this prestigious award,” said Charles W. Elliott, CEO of Rowan Regional Medical Center.
“This recognition reflects on both the commitment and expertise of the talented professionals at our medical center,” he added.
