Douglas L. Wyrick
Douglas Lee Wyrick, 80, formerly of 1656 Eastwood Drive, died Tuesday (Nov. 14, 2006) at Five Oaks Nursing Center, Concord.
Born Aug. 6, 1926, in Rowan County, Mr. Wyrick was a son of the late Linwood V. and Florence Allen Wyrick.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was the owner-operator of Boulevard Motors from 1955 to 1969.
He was a Baptist and a former member of the Kannapolis Moose Lodge.
His wife of 50 years, Dean Whitten Wyrick, died May 21, 1997.
Survivors include son Douglas D. Wyrick, Kannapolis; daughter Susan Meeks, Kannapolis; sister Grace Hamilton, Rockingham; brother Howard and Hoyt Wyrick, both of Kannapolis; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
A service was held Thursday (Nov. 16, 2006) at Whitley’s Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Susan German. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.
