Ethel R. Sifford
CHINA GROVE ó Ethel Ritchie Sifford, 95, formerly of China Grove, died Saturday (Nov. 25, 2006) at Pennybyrn at Maryfield Nursing Home, High Point.
Born on Oct. 16, 1911, in Rowan County, Mrs. Sifford was a daughter of the late Robert and Laura Cress Sifford.
Educated at Farm Life School, she was a member of Organ Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School.
She was a long-time member of Eastern Star and White Shrine and worked at Cannon Mills for 30 years.
Her husband, Chester James Sifford, died in 1997.
Survivors include daughter Joan Lee, High Point; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren
A service was held Tuesday (Nov. 28, 2006) at Organ Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Terrance Long and the Rev. Gamlin, minister.
Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home was in charge.
