Nathan E. Walker
Nathan Eugene Walker, 82, died Sunday (Nov. 26, 2006) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born July 29, 1924, in Cabarrus County, Mr. Walker was a son of the late Tyrie and Myrtle Fortner Walker.
During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army’s 158th Combat Engineers.
He worked for 45 years in Cannon Mills’ No. 2 Weave Room and was a member of Kimball Lutheran Church where he served as treasurer of the Ridenhour Bible Class.
Son Jerry Eugene Walker preceded him in death.
Survivors include wife Carrie Tucker Walker; daughter Vivian Pittman, Kannapolis; son, Bruce Walker, Mooresville; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 30, 2006), Lady’s Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Richard Rhoades and Dr. Hoke Ritchie. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.
Visitation: 6 to 8 tonight (Nov. 29, 2006) at the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
