LANDIS ó The South Rowan High School baccalaureate service will be held tomorrow at 3 p.m. at First Reformed Church of Landis, 210 N. Central Ave.
Speakers for the service include members of the class of 2007 and the Rev. David P. Franks. Music will be provided by senior soloists, the South Rowan High School Chorus under the direction of Jan Gore and the First Reformed Church praise team, Not Ashamed.”
Seniors are asked to gather in the fellowship hall at 2:30 p.m. A reception will follow the service. Parents and members of the community are also invited to attend. First Reformed Church has hosted this service for the last seven years.
Sills Creek
MOORESVILLE ó The Voices of Joy (formerly Noble Spiritual Singers) will celebrate their 52nd anniversary tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Sills Creek AME Zion Church.
Many groups are expected to participate. Master of ceremonies is Roland Carter of Lexington.

Center series
Beginning June 3, Center Celebration at St. John’s Lutheran Church, will feature a series called “The Way The World Works” at the 9 a.m. services.
This series is based on Galatians, with Paul’s teaching about how the love of Christ transcends the laws of man. The messages will be illustrated with scenes from the movie “Babe,” the tale of a pig whose love transforms those around him.
The Rev. Jennifer Ginn will lead the studies on Sunday and June 10 and 17. The Rev. Dr. Carl Satchleben will lead on June 24, and he will conclude the series on July 1.

New Zion Baptist
New Zion Baptist Church will observe its annual Deacons and Deaconesses Day at 4 p.m. tomorrow.
Guest speaker will be the Rev. Reginald McConneaughey, pastor of God’s Tabernacle for Believers in Rockwell. He will be accompanied by his choir and congregation.

Neel Road Baptist
The Rev. Neil Porter Westbrook has resigned his position as minister of education and children at First Baptist Church in Anderson, S.C., to become the pastor of Neel Road Baptist Church.
Westbrook has 10 years of ministerial experience, having served in churches in Virginia and South and North Carolina. He has a bachelor’s degree in religious studies, with a minor in Biblical Hebrew from North Carolina State University. He received a master of divinity degree from Duke Divinity School and expects to receive his doctorate of ministry from McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University in 2009.
Joining him will be his wife, Whitney, and their two children, Parker and Hadley.
Westbrook’s first sermon as pastor will be tomorrow. His Celebration Installation Service will be held Sunday, June 10.
Erwin Temple
COOLEEMEE ó The Pastor’s Aid of Erwin Temple CME Church will present its annual program, “Twelve Tribes of Israel” at 3 p.m. tomorrow.
Various area churches are invited to participate in representing the tribes. There will be gospel singing by each tribe and Bible scripture giving information about the tribes during the program

New pastor
Trinity Wesleyan Church has a new senior pastor, Randy Addison. He begins his ministry at Trinity tomorrow.
The Addisons are moving to Salisbury from Stuart, Fla. Addison has pastored churches in Pennsylvania, Alabama and Florida for the past 18 years. He and his wife, Kathy, are parents to four children, Kristen, Randy, Lauren and Megan.

N.T. Word of Faith
The New Testament Word of Faith Church will honor its high school and college graduates at 11 a.m. tomorrow during the annual graduation service.
Graduates have been asked to wear their school caps and gowns. Those graduating from high schools are Searra Peck, Katrilya Patterson and Theo Casey. College graduates are Adrienne Danielle Suber, Hopelyn Brown and Rufus Hobson III.
All graduates will be recognized and given a gift from the church. There will be special music by the Mass Choir. The public is invited.
At 7 p.m., there will be another special service with guest speaker retired Lt. Col. David Kithcart. Kithcart has traveled throughout the U.S. and abroad and has shared the good news of the Gospel on television and radio.
There will be special music by the choir, and a nursery will be provided.

KANNAPOLIS ó Rose Hill Baptist Church plans “Service on the Lawn and Food for the Soul.”
This community outreach event will be Sunday, June 10, at the Village Park Amphitheater in Kannapolis (at the corner of West C Street and Dale Earnhardt Boulevard).
The service will be conducted on the lawn beginning at 10 a.m. Those attending are asked to bring lawn chairs and wear shorts and flip-flops. There will be singing, free food, family fun, games and give-aways beginning at noon.
