Annie M. Guthrie

DAVIDSON — Annie Mae McClure Guthrie, 73, Davidson, died Jan. 27, 2007, at Five Oaks Manor, Kannapolis.

Born Dec. 12, 1933, in Harrisburg, Mrs. Guthrie was a daughter of the late John Allen and Elizabeth Parks McClure.

She retired from the Cabarrus County School System, where she taught in the Kid Plus Program, and was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Concord.

Her husband, John Louis Guthrie, died in 1983.

Survivors include daughters Johnie M. Guthrie, Davidson, Deborah Knoell, Charlotte, Rebecca Patterson-Weaver, Concord, and Sherry G. Puryear, Atlanta, Ga.; sons John L. Guthrie, Jr., Pflugerville, Texas, Wayne O. Guthrie, Hickory, Wade O. Guthrie, Albemarle, and Lorne P. Guthrie, Davidson; spiritual daughter Annie Dagone, Concord; sisters Olla Belle Stafford, Dorothy McClure and Arizona Dean, all of Charlotte; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A service was held Saturday (Feb. 3, 2007) at Lady’s Funeral Home, Kannapolis, conducted by Rodney Lyles.
