Susannah Ellis Wilds

BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. – Susannah Ellis Wilds, of Blythewood, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007.

Born in Salisbury, N.C., Mrs. Wilds was the daughter of Lorene Ellen Culp and the late James Benjamin Taylor. She attended Wake Forest University and the American University in Paris. She received a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina, where she also taught. Prior to retiring, she was employed with Policy Management Systems, now CSC.

Mrs. Wilds enjoyed gardening, traveling and jewelry- making. She was a collector of pearls and a writer, self-publishing three books.

Surviving are her husband, Thomas Wilds; her mother of Columbia; daughter Alyse Hughes and fiance Kevin Stanley of Charlotte; and stepsons Thomas Sheffield Wilds of Columbia and Stephen Andrew Wilds of York, Pa.

Service: A Memorial Service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Stroke Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
