Letter: Why these photos?

On the front page Thursday, you have a story about six teens being charged with manslaughter. In the pictures, the boys are wearing football uniforms and the girls are in graduation gowns. But when police arrest other people, you use pictures showing them as they are. Why?

Editor’s note: At the time the story was written, the grand jury had indicted the teens, but they had not been arrested. Authorities had not taken mug shots of them yet. The Post used photos from a yearbook and sports files.
