Dennis R. James

SALTERS COVE – Dennis R. James, age 76, of Salters Cove, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, at National Healthcare.

Born Sept. 14, 1930, in Forsyth County, N.C., Mr. James was a son of the late Lorene James Hollady. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and a graduate of Guilford College, Greensboro, N.C.

He was a member of Surfside Moose Lodge, Moose Legion, Rowan Shrine Club, Masonic Temple and the VFW. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are wife Charlotte W. James of Salters Cove; children Dennis R. James Jr. of Fountain Inn, Melanie Evans of Ladson and Lori Evans of Charleston; stepchildren Vicki Hinson of Murrells Inlet and Leslie E. Pack of Manning; and five grandsons.

Service: Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel, Murrells Inlet, with entombment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation: Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
