Associated Press

STARKVILLE, Miss. — Corey Brewer scored 20 points, including five during a game-turning 10-1 run early in the second half, and top-ranked Florida survived a scary Southeastern Conference road game Wednesday by beating Mississippi State 70-67.

The Gators (18-2, 5-0) won their 11th straight with a dominant second half that featured big plays from Brewer and Lee Humphrey, who was scoreless in the first half but scored all eight of his points during a second key run that gave Florida an edge.

No. 5 Ohio State 59, Northwestern 50

EVANSTON, Ill. — Freshman Greg Oden had 17 points and a season-high 17 rebounds, and Ohio State hung on to beat Northwestern for its fourth straight win.

Oden scored 10 points over the final 10:19, after Northwestern’s Tim Doyle hit back-to-back baskets to pull the Wildcats within 39-38. Oden’s 17 boards were one more than his previous high, and the Buckeyes (17-3, 5-1 Big Ten) outrebounded Northwestern 39-19.

Texas Tech 70, No. 6 Texas A&M 68

LUBBOCK, Texas — Martin Zeno sank a free throw with 24.9 seconds remaining to lift Texas Tech over Texas A&M, giving the Red Raiders their second straight win over a Top 10 team.

Acie Law scored 26 points and Dominique Kirk had 12 to lead the Aggies (16-3, 4-1).

No. 8 Kansas 82, Baylor 56

WACO, Texas — Brandon Rush scored 18 points and Kansas held Baylor to three points in the first 11 minutes to cruise to victory.

No. 9 Pittsburgh 67, Cincinnati 51

CINCINNATI — Levance Fields made a career-high six 3-pointers, leading a long-range spree that carried Pittsburgh past Cincinnati.

The Panthers (18-3, 6-1) held onto their spot atop the Big East by featuring their dangerous inside-out attack. Pitt went 12-of-19 from 3-point range against a smaller team determined to not get beaten inside by 7-foot center Aaron Gray.

No. 15 Marquette 89, Seton Hall 76

MILWAUKEE — Sophomores Wesley Matthews and Jerel McNeal scored 22 points apiece and Marquette had little trouble with Seton Hall.

McNeal made 9-of-15 shots.

No. 17 Arizona 71, Az. St 47

TUCSON, Ariz. — Freshman Chase Budinger had 21 points and 10 rebounds, and No. 17 Arizona snapped a three-game losing streak.

Arizona (14-5, 5-4 Pac-10) beat its in-state rival for the 11th straight time.

Jawann McClellan added 14 points for the Wildcats.
