Jefferies Dalton Engagement

Erma Jean Smith Jefferies of East Spencer and N.D. Dalton of Lexington are pleased to announce their engagement.

Erma is the daughter of the late Julius and Mary Smith of East Spencer. A 1961 graduate of Dunbar High School, she graduated from Winston-Salem State University in 1993 and received a master’s degree in theology from Hood Theological Seminary in 2006. Formerly a registered nurse at Rowan Regional Medical Center, she retired in 2001 and is now mayor of East Spencer.

The future groom is the son of Jessie Dalton and the late David Dalton of Harmony. A 1955 graduate of Dunbar High School in Lexington, he retired from Billings Freight in Lexington.

The wedding is planned for Feb. 17, 2007, at the Northside Community Economic Development Center in East Spencer.
