103 years old

Name: Lala Alice Morris

Born: Jan. 9, 1904

Parents: Jessee and Laura Young Morris

Family: Three brothers, now deceased: Claude, Fred and Archie. Miss Lala cared for her parents and made her home with them.

Church membership: She is the oldest member of Union Lutheran Church.

Hobbies: She loved gardening and sewing. She still loves visitors and family get-togethers.

Key to living a long life: Her strong faith, and the fact that she has always kept busy.

Miss Lala graduated from East Spencer High School in 1920. She started teaching in 1924 at the school at Union Church. After the schools consolidated, she worked at Rickman Manufacturing Company for a number of years. Her 103rd birthday was commemorated with a get-together at the Lutheran Home Jan. 9.
