Letter: Satirizing Edwards

In reference to the cartoon in the Sunday, Jan. 7, Salisbury Post:

I would like to question whether Mark Brincefield is a local cartoonist for the Post. If that is the case, I wonder if he is from here. Maybe not, which would explain his making fun of John Edwards, Democratic candidate for president, for being a Southerner. I wonder if many local Southerners, of which I’m sure we have a few (I’m proud to be one), found this amusing.

Also, if Brincefield actually read some of Edwards’ literature — not just a news clip or two — he would maybe think twice before his next cartoon. I have spent time reading about Edwards and would be very happy if he were our next president. He does happen to be, yes, a wealthy trial lawyer. However, he has worked hard helping people who truly deserved justice.
