Grace Manson Giles

SALISBURY – Grace Marie “Tootsie” Manson Giles, 76, of Salisbury, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks.

Born April 4, 1930, in Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Giles was the daughter of the late Henry Grady and Lois Harviel Manson. She was a graduate of Boyden High School and was a former member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Women’s Aglow Fellowship, a WELCA life member and a devoted homemaker.

She was married Lloyd Edward Giles on Dec. 19, 1952, who preceded her in death March 20, 1977. Also preceding her was a sister, Mary Georgia “Bobby” Womble.

Survivors include children Libby Bingham (Russell) of Salisbury, Carol Curl (Tony) of Holly Springs, Eddie Giles of Roxboro; brother Henry Grady Manson (Phyllis) of Simpsonville, S.C.; and grandchildren Patricia Grace Giles of Kernersville, Daniel Edward Lloyd in the U.S. Navy and Stephanie Lloyd of Richfield.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at Summersett Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Libby and Russell Bingham, 1070 Glover Road, Salisbury.

Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday in Summersett Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Darrell Norris, chaplain of Trinity Oaks, will officiate. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.

Her greatest love was the Lord Jesus and her family. The family wishes to give a special thank you to the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks for the special love, kindness and care that was shown to Mrs. Giles.
