RALEIGH — North Carolina State head coach Tom O’Brien will bring his entire offensive coaching staff from Boston College, including former Wolfpack assistant Dana Bible, the team announced Friday.

The four assistant coaches directed the Eagles offense to an ACC-leading 387.8 yards per game in 2005. It was the ACC’s second most productive offense in 2006.

Bible, whose 31-year coaching career included a stint as the Wolfpack’s passing game coordinator in the early 1980s, will remain O’Brien’s offensive coordinator. Don Horton will coach the Wolfpack’s offensive line, Jim Bridge will mentor the tight ends, and Jason Swepson will lead the team’s corps of running backs, the Wolfpack announced.

N.C. State fired Chuck Amato, a former Wolfpack linebacker, the day after the team closed a 3-9 season with their seventh consecutive loss.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida State coach Bobby Bowden continued to revamp his offensive staff Friday afternoon, choosing former Seminoles star Lawrence Dawsey, 39, as his new receivers coach.

INTERNATIONAL BOWL

TORONTO — Brian Kelly will make his debut as Cincinnati coach today, having coached Central Michigan during the regular season. He was hired Nov. 27 to replace Mike Dantonio.

The bowl game between Cincinnati (7-5) and Western Michigan (8-4) is set for noon on ESPN2.
