MINNEAPOLIS — This time the Timberwolves held on.

Mark Blount scored 28 points, Kevin Garnett had 27 points and 17 rebounds, and Minnesota beat the San Antonio Spurs 103-101 in overtime Wednesday night.

To earn its first win in six games against the Spurs, Minnesota made six straight free throws and Trenton Hassell grabbed a key rebound late in overtime.

That was not the case Dec. 13 when Minnesota led San Antonio by 16 late in first half before being held to 26 points after intermission in a 95-82 loss.

Rockets 103, Sonics 96

HOUSTON — Tracy McGrady scored 31 points, topping 30 for the third straight game, and Juwan Howard added 18 for Houston.

McGrady also had seven assists and Dikembe Mutombo grabbed 14 rebounds as the Rockets won their fourth straight game. Houston is 4-1 since Yao Ming broke a bone in his right leg.

Ray Allen scored 32 on 13-of-22 shooting for the Sonics, who’ve lost four of their last five and 10 in a row on the road. Damien Wilkins added 19.

Jazz 98, 76ers 87

SALT LAKE CITY — Carlos Boozer had 27 points and 14 rebounds, Deron Williams just missed his career high with 14 assists, and Utah beat travel-weary Philadelphia.

Andre Miller led Philadelphia with 17 points and five assists. The Sixers fell to 2-4 on the lengthy road trip, which ends Friday at Minnesota.

Knicks 99, Trail Blazers 81

PORTLAND, Ore. — Eddy Curry had 27 points, including six dunks, and New York snapped a three-game losing streak on its West Coast trip by beating Portland.

Zach Randolph had 15 points and nine rebounds for the Blazers, who have lost four straight and six of their last seven — following a five-game winning streak.

Clippers 110, Heat 95

MIAMI — Elton Brand scored 28 points and Chris Kaman added 20 as the Los Angeles Clippers easily beat Miami 110-95.

Corey Maggette had 16 points and 11 rebounds, Quinton Ross scored 13 points, and Daniel Ewing and Shaun Livingston each added 12 for the Clippers (15-17), who outscored Miami 30-13 in the third quarter and improved to 3-11 on the road.

Suns 100, Raptors 98

TORONTO — Steve Nash scored 13 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter to lead Phoenix over Toronto.

Toronto’s Chris Bosh returned from a 12-game absence and had 26 points and 14 rebounds.

Wizards 108, Bucks 105

WASHINGTON — Gilbert Arenas hit a long 3-pointer at the buzzer, capping a 32-point game and giving Washington the victory.

Arenas hit his 32-footer, turned and strolled calmly away as if it were another shot on the playground.

Caron Butler added 29 points, seven rebounds and a career-high nine assists, and Antawn Jamison had 22 points for the Wizards.

Grizzlies 144, Warriors 135

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Mike Miller scored a season-high 33 points and Pau Gasol added 24 points and 13 rebounds Wednesday night to lead Memphis to the highest point total in franchise history.

The victory overshadowed a career high of 36 points by Golden State’s Matt Barnes as seven Warriors scored in double figures.

Baron Davis scored 22 points and had 13 assists for Golden State.
