Jimmy Ray Fisher

SALISBURY – Jimmy Ray Fisher, 62, of Salisbury, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at NorthEast Medical Center in Concord.

Born Nov. 7, 1944, in Rowan County, Mr. Fisher was a son of James Fisher of Salisbury and the late Pauline Allman Fisher. Educated in Rowan County schools, he was employed by the North Carolina Department of Correction at the Rowan Correctional Center.

Mr. Fisher was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death was a son, James “Todd” Ray Fisher.

Survivors include wife Sherry Burris Fisher, whom he married Sept. 10, 1983; stepson Ronnie Condrey of Salisbury; his father, James, and stepmother Margaret Fisher of Salisbury; daughter Angela Fisher of Salisbury; brother Curtis “Buddy” Fisher and wife Sherry of Salisbury; sisters Ann Eagle and husband Buck of Salisbury and Texie Blackburn and husband Tom of Olin; and two grandchildren.

Service: 2 p.m. Friday at New Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Darrell Worley and Pastor Tom Blackburn officiating. Burial will be at Rowan Memorial Park.

Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight at New Hope Baptist Church.
