Sophomore Brandon Ferguson scored 19 points and freshman Darius Moose had 13 points in Carson’s 75-56 NPC boys basketball loss to Lake Norman on Wednesday.

Carson (1-11, 0-3) trailed 37-34 at halftime and faced a single-digit deficit with six minutes left.

“Then Lake Norman just got a bunch of offensive rebounds, and things snowballed,” Carson coach Brian Perry said. “We always talk about getting to the fourth quarter in position to win. We were in position, but then we had a bad fourth quarter.”

Ferguson did most of his damage in the first half before the Wildcats started concentrating on him defensively.

“We’re still having trouble finishing and playing the full 32 minutes,” Perry said. “We’ve got to do better rebounding and defending.”
