Sue C. Haas

CONCORD – Sue Colleen Haas, 87, of Concord, died Sunday December 31, 2006 at Five Oaks Nursing Center, Concord, where she had been a resident for four months.

Born June 15, 1919, in Caldwell County, Mrs. Haas was a daughter of the late Dave Williams and the late Nora Travis Williams. She served in the ministry as a pastor’s wife with her husband for over fifty years, serving churches in Mt. Gilead, Rockingham, High Point, Lumberton, Shelby and Kannapolis.

Mrs. Haas is survived by her husband of 71 years, Rev John Haas, also a son Roger Haas and wife Kathy of Kannapolis, two daughters, Carolyn Allen and husband W.K. of Kannapolis and Debi Andrews and husband Chris of Charlotte, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Haas was preceded in death by two sons, Rev. Jerry Haas and his wife Stacie who had lived in Rockwell, and Michael Haas, of Baltimore, Maryland.

Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday January 2, 2007 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel in Kannapolis with the Rev. Robert Howard officiating. Interment will be at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

Visitation: 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Monday at Whitley’s Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home of Rev. John Haas.
