Audrey Ketner Goble

SALISBURY – Audrey Ketner Goble, 87, of Salisbury, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006, at Genesis Eldercare of Salisbury.

Born Nov. 11, 1919, in Rowan County, Mrs. Goble was the daughter of the late Lee Bachman Ketner and Bertie Cruse Ketner. A 1937 graduate of Rockwell High School, she attended Pfeiffer College and was a life-member of Organ Lutheran Church and a member of WELCA Group 2, the Senior Citizens Group and the Senior Citizens Choir.

Mrs. Goble had worked for Cannon Mills Sheet Dept. for nine years and U.S. Industries as a machine operator for 28 years retiring in 1981.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul U. Goble, on July 18, 1992, and a son, Michael Dean Goble, on Feb. 6, 1994.

Survivors include son Dennis Neal Goble and wife Lenea of Rockwell; brother Leebert Ketner of Salisbury; sister Lou Ellen Shuping of Salisbury; grandchildren Amanda Cox and husband Shawn and Garret Goble; and great-grandchildren Kelsey Wagner and Lindsey Cox.

Visitation: 4-5:30 p.m. today at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell.

Funeral Services: 2 p.m. Sunday at Organ Lutheran Church, Salisbury, conducted by the Rev. Terrell Long, pastor, and the Rev. Robert Yount, visitation pastor. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
