Sue Colleen Haas

CONCORD – Sue Colleen Haas, 87, Concord, died Sunday (Dec. 31, 2006) at Five Oaks Nursing Center, where she had lived for four months.

Born June 15, 1919, in Caldwell County, Mrs. Haas was a daughter of the late Dave and Nora Travis Williams.

She served as a pastor’s wife for more than fifty years, serving with her husband, the Rev. John Haas, to whom she was married 71 years, churches in Mount Gilead, Rockingham, High Point, Lumberton, Shelby and Kannapolis.

Two sons, the Rev. Jerry Haas and Michael Haas, preceded her in death.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include son Roger Haas, Kannapolis; daughters Carolyn Allen, Kannapolis, and Debi Andrews, Charlotte; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A service was held Tuesday (Jan. 2, 2007) at Whitley’s Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Robert Howard. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.
