Alton Alfred “Dan” Bass, 82, 642 Caribbean Court, died Dec. 26, 2006, at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord, after a short illness.

Born March 15, 1924, in Rowan County, Mr. Bass was a son of the late Charles Burton and Nettie Moore Bass.

In earlier years, he worked in the Weave Room of Cannon Mills Plant 1 and later worked for railroad services and the bakery business.

Survivors include brothers Archie Bass, High Point, and Charles Bass, Savannah, Ga.

A graveside service was held Friday (Dec. 29, 2006) at Kannapolis Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Darrell Furr.

Whitley’s Funeral Home was in charge.
