Letter: Newcomers to city feel right at home

Published 12:00 am Monday, January 1, 2007

We are newcomers to Salisbury; we were looking for a retirement home and found a good one here. We came from a small town of about 1,000, with very friendly neighbors and a small Lutheran church where every one new each other. It was difficult to leave this environment, not knowing what was in store here.

Surprise, surprise, we have been treated just like long-lost loved ones. The small church we were looking for turned out to be a large church with a small church attitude, St. John’s Lutheran Church. They made us feel so welcome, especially the Marten Luther Sunday School Class. We feel very fortunate to have chosen Salisbury for our retirement home.
