Ethel Arey Nash

SALISBURY – Ethel Arey Nash, 94, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006 at the Coronary Care unit of Rowan Regional Medical Center after an illness of one and a half weeks.

Born December 17, 1912 in Rowan County she was the daughter of the late Lona Peeler Arey and John Alfred Arey. She was a graduate of Boyden High School and Richmond Virginia School of Cosmetology. She was the President of Arey Brick and Lumber Company Inc. in Salisbury, an active member of First United Methodist Church where she was a member since infancy and a member of the Daisy Hedrick Sunday School class and Methodist Connection.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robie L. Nash and daughter Lona N. Duggins.

Survivors include sons John L. Nash and wife Helen of Morganton, Sam A. Nash and wife Joan of Salisbury; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at Summersett Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Thomas L. Griffis. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.
