Cordie Nance Campbell

CHINA GROVE – Cordie Nance Campbell, 91, of 611 E. Ketchie St., died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at Genesis Eldercare of Salisbury.

Born July 21, 1915, in Mecklenburg County, Mrs. Campbell was the daughter of the late William Richard and Essie Van Pelt Nance. She was educated in the Rowan County schools and was a member of Mount Zion United Church of Christ. Mrs. Nance retired from Cannon Mills.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Harvey Eugene Campbell in 1994; brothers Claude, Marvin, Dowd and James Nance; and sister Eudean Gabriel.

Survivors include stepson Woody (Glenda) Campbell of China Grove; stepdaughter Judy Overcash of Rockwell; sisters Grace (Jack) Grant of Roanoke Rapids, Mae Bradshaw of China Grove and Pauline Hopkins of Salisbury; three step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Graveside Service: 3 p.m. Friday at Castanea Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Mount Holly, with the Rev. William Campbell, pastor of Mount Zion United Church of Christ, officiating.

Visitation: 1-2 p.m. Friday at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove.
